The first time I sat on one of these was at this tiny bookstore in Nakameguro area of Tokyo called Cow Books. They had eight of them around a table where you could sit and browse their collection of rare and vintage books from around the world. I absolutely love these, their timeless, will last a life and more. Originally Charles and Ray Eames designed the stools in 1960 for the lobby of New York’s Time Life Building. I prefer to use them as bedside nightstands as well.
